We like many other recruitment business in New Zealand have a fairly standard approach
to recruitment search, but when you work with us you know the difference and why
customers prefer to work with us.

- Identifying your needs – this
part of the recruitment process is
critical and therefore we like to spend
a little more time as this part of the
process, understanding your business,
understanding the role we are recruiting
and most importantly understand what
sort of person you are looking for. Our experience has shown us that this process needs to be deeper than just meeting the HR or Hiring Manager, we prefer to undertake a 360 degree approach to the briefing and gain great insights from spending time with the team or on site.
- Searching for the best - If we take on an assignment we want to be sure that we know the industry that we are working, we know the key players and the key personnel, if we cannot link to these people we will not accept the assignment. We have built through many years of NZ industry experience a wide range of contacts amongst our senior team which usually means that we will know a key contact within your industry. Knowing these key contacts are supported by an excellent research team. Our key difference in step of the process is that we are all New Zealander’s and grown up, played sport, gone through university and drunk beer with the now Senior Management of New Zealand.
- Approaching Candidates – only the Senior Team at Global Village will ever approach a candidate in a search process, this can be the most critical part of the process, we need to ensure that our customers brand is managed very carefully and our professionalism and integrity is very much at stake, we get about three minutes to make a impression this can be the deal maker or deal breaker moment.
- The Interview – when we interview these applicants it is very important that we remember that we approached them, so our interview style must ensure that we build a professional rapport with the applicant whilst still focusing on the behavioural based interviewing style that focuses on the content of their achievements not just the track record. We validate our interview with thorough referencing meeting the referee face to face wherever possible to get a full in-depth understanding of their competency.
- Managing the close – the Global Village team will now have built a strong relationship with the candidate and trust is a very important factor to ensure that the right candidate accepts the role offered, the coaching through the remuneration package, helping manage the exit from the previous employer and working with the family if relocation is part of the deal.
- Ongoing responsibility – All Global Village candidates are placed with an extended guarantee period, and we ensure that our candidates do not only last this period but our focus is that Global Village candidates are still employed in five years from start date. This is why our customers keep coming back to us.
